Climate change to affect fish industry

Speaking in an interview with the Sun Mr Mwale said it meant that the natural breeding grounds for fish were going to be affected because of the quality of water.
He said that fish was a living organism that was supposed to live in a proper environment that was clean, with ample supply of oxygen and lots of nutrients.
He said that climate change was a major issue that was supposed to be taken into serious consideration all the time if the sector was to do well.
“Even when we introduce new systems of production, we must adhere to good practices, good environmental management and efficient utilization of our water resources. Water resources of any form and proper management are critical,” he said.
