The World Health Organization (WHO) is working with “partners and experts” to produce a new name for the monkeypox virus, the head of the UN watchdog, Tedros Ghebreyesus, announced on Tuesday. The international body is also considering raising its monkeypox alert to the highest level possible.

The Civil Service Commission has announced that it will by the end of next week give appointment letters to the successful 11,276 health workers.

THERE is need for employers to provide decent salaries and improve the working environment for nurses and midwives for them to provide services that maintain respect for human dignity, the Zambia Union of Nurses Organisation (ZUNO) has said.

Unemployed doctors have expressed worry that the recruitment exercise for the 11,276 health workers may delay following the overwhelming response which has seen over 100, 000 people jostling for the positions.
