I TOTALLY agree with our General Education Minister David Mabumba that provision of quality education will make Africa including Zambia better and stronger.

This is because there is nothing that can replace education as we all know every profession in the world today started with education from primary, secondary to tertiary education.

I mean to train doctors, engineers, pilots, journalists and many others cannot be achieved without ideal education which certainly forms that great base.

Mr Mabumba is also correct to state that provision of quality education should be a shared aspiration to all African countries and Zambia should remain committed to ensuring that teachers delivered quality education.

And I think the recent reduction in school fees should be the start towards quality education for all Zambians.

Zambia is therefore in order to call on other African countries to improve on their education systems in order to compete favorably worldwide.

Mr. Mabumba who was speaking in Maseru, Lesotho during the 10TH Conference for the Africa Federation of Teaching Regulatory Authority (AFTRA) should be supported by all who love education.

He is also correct to declare any aspirations for a developed Africa will only be realized once learners are taught by professionally qualified and productive teachers.

I think with our operationalized Teaching Council of Zambia to regulate the teaching profession and reduced school fees, Zambia is on the right path to better her education system.
