MCM suspends ops

Mopani Copper Mines has suspended all operations for two days following an accident which killed two workers.
Chief executive officer, Chris Vermeulen said an accident on Tuesday morning occurred at 3510 feet level, 1100 Cross Cut which resulted in the loss of two Reliant Drilling employees.
Mr Vermeulen said the company had since decided to shut down operations for 48 hours starting with its afternoon shift from 14.00 hours.
This is according to a statement obtained by the Sun.
“Please note that employees reporting for work for the afternoon Shift will be sent back home and all employees should report for work on Wednesday, 20th March 2019 at 06:00 hours, where they will be advised on what will follow”, said Mr Vermeulen.
