IT’S ‘FINALLY’ YO MAPS AT KWACHA MUSIC AWARDS

Artiste Yo Maps extended his season of great music influence after bagging four awards at the recently-held Sun FM Kwacha Music Awards which took place on Saturday at Mulungushi International Conference Centre in Lusaka.

The Kabwe-based singer had his song ‘ Finally’ featuring Macky2 scoop the Song of the Year Award while he also got the ‘ Best artiste-Central Province as well as the ‘Best Artiste- Mainstream’. Yo Maps also picked up the best newcomer award.

Nominated six times in four categories, Yo Maps only missed out one award under the best collaboration. Other big winners were Chef 187 who got best artiste of year and best hip hop, Bobby East got the album of the year and the best artiste Lusaka Province. Cleo Ice Queen got the best female award while Roberto got the best international.

The event, which is in its third year revealed growth and brought out a sense of national pride and excellence. Performances were on point and showed preparation. Sista D, J-Rox, Mainza, Afunika and Bombshell were among the artistes that put up amazing and dedicated performances.
