LUSAKA Dynamos have lodged a complaint with FAZ over defending Champions Zesco United for allegedly holding on to striker Chris Mugalu illegally.

Dynamos claim Zesco has continued to keep Mugalu who was supposed to be attending pre-season training with the Lusaka outfit.

According to a letter obtained by The Sun sport dated July 24 and written by club secretary Oliver Shalala addressed to the FAZ General Secretary Adrian Kashala, Dynamos say Mugalu was cleared before he left for his holidays.

“Lusaka Dynamos would like to officially complain to your good office about the behaviour of Zesco United FC who have decided to take our player Chris Kope Mugalu into their care even when they know he was a contracted player of Lusaka Dynamos,

“Not only is he a contracted player here but he is supposed to be attending pre-season training with our club but Zesco have been accommodating him to the point where they even hosted him during that club’s annual awards dinner,” reads a letter in part

The complaining says they have read on social media that Mugalu had resigned from Dynamos but it had n not seen that letter of resignation.

“And even if we had done so, the club does not owe Kope Mugalu money towards his salaries and bonuses as these were paid to his account before he even left for holidays. The proof of payment is there,’’ reads the letter.

The club has asked FAZ to act in the matter as they believed no team should sign or try a player based on the player’s claims of status alone without due diligence with the originating club.

Dynamos have also written to Mugalu requesting that he returns to the club and start training. The club gave their captain a 10-day ultimatum in which to return to the team.

The 2017 super league top scorer has been linked with  intentions to move away from Dynamos and Zesco have admitted having shown in the Congolese forward but denied any wrong doing.
