CURRENT and former civic leaders should take part in the preparations of the first ever North-Western Expo slated for August 2019, says Mayor Nicolas Mukumbi
Mr Mukumbi said the Expo would bring the much-needed development for all in the province.
Speaking during a meeting he called for with the former mayors together with serving councillors, town clerks and council departmental heads in attendance, Mr Mukumbi said the meeting was aimed at consulting each other.
“This meeting’s aim was to consult each other on matters pertaining to development and ensure that most issues are deliberated,
“To develop the province we need to unite as serving and former civic leaders for openness at all times on issues like the delimitation exercise, development in general,
He said past council resolutions, land matters, naming of roads, construction of markets and bus stations among the many needed debates and consultations needed to be dealt with.
“Since Solwezi is a fast growing district, tapping into the vast knowledge of former civic leaders will highlight the concerned efforts of everyone here and stakeholders and shape the development agenda and vision we have for it”, Mr Mukumbi said
Mr Mukumbi said with development came huge investment potential with pressure to be exerted on the limited public infrastructure like roads, water supply and sewage thereby requiring stakeholders to work with the common goal of development.
