ACSS to conduct education seminars for youths

THE Agricultural and Commercial Show Society (ACSS) will this year hold youth seminars with the aim of educating them on the dangers of drug abuse among other topics, says its president Caroline Silwamba.

Ms Silwamba said the seminars would also cover topics on the importance of education, dangers of early marriages and career development.

She said that the first lady Esther Lungu will be the guest of honor at the seminars. She was speaking in Lusaka at a press briefing.

Ms Silwamba further explained that other seminars aimed at sharing information during the show would include agriculture diversification to enhance national food security.

“Topics during agricultural seminars will include fisheries, Livestock and finance. The Society has aligned sessions on aspects of cultivating drought resistant crops among other issues,

“There is no additional fee required to attend these programmes, all it takes is a gate entry ticket or badge into the show grounds,” she said

In addition, the society has arranged to host youth seminars with target groups to include majorettes, junior brass bands and students.

“Entry will be free for this will be on 31 July 2019 provided there are in school uniform and accompanied by a teacher, “he said.  

And Ms Silwamba advised exhibitors and general public to be security conscious with their valuables although society has engaged Zambia Police and private security companies to provide security.
