All is set for 93rd Agriculture and commercial show

The number of participators in this year’s 93rd Agriculture and Commercial Show is expected to be high due to the growth in the pattern of exhibits and competitions which consist of next-generation farmers, president Caroline Silwamba has said.

Ms. Silwamba said of all expected exhibitors, 250 were foreign which have since confirmed their participation.

Speaking at a press briefing yesterday, Ms. Silwamba said there was substantial numbers of exhibitors from Ghana, Zimbabwe, Egypt, Kenya, Mozambique, Botswana, Nigeria and Tanzania among other African countries.

She said the show society has received an overwhelming response from the exhibitors and that 140,000 square meters covering 85 percent of the spaces had been taken up by July 17.

Ms. Silwamba said various stakeholders had responded to partnering with the show society in maintaining a clean and green environment

She advised members of the public to buy tickets and badges from legitimate personnel at K170 for the exhibitor while the adult membership badge would sell at K130.

Ms. Silwamba said junior show membership badge would cost K60 and pre-sale tickets were going for K30 while the VIP badge was being sold at K500.

Meanwhile, Ms. Silwamba noted that the public would enjoy the strength and agility of the show with a balanced entertainment package featuring renowned Congolese musician Fally Ipupa who would exchange microphones with Zambian counterparts such as B-flow, Mampi, and Ameyenge among others.

“I would like to inform the nation that the society has continued focusing on developing the showgrounds,

“The new member’s pavilion is one of the developments that has been started on the master plan and shall be officially opened during the show,” she said

She gave credit to the society’s volunteers and management team for their resilience and hard work in ensuring that every task was executed as planned.

This year’s Agricultural and Commercial Society theme is “Embracing Industrial Development.
