CAF competition hopefuls Kabwe Warriors go into week 16 of the Zambia super league fixtures with confidence having on Wednesday boosted by news of the FAZ adding them three more points following their week 14 abandoned game against Nakambala Leopards in Kabwe.

The new stream A pacesetters Warriors take on struggling Mufulira Wanderers at Godfrey ‘Ucar’ Chitalu Stadium and will be looking to maintain their leadership by beating struggling Wanderers at their home.

A win for the five-time league Champions could take them to 29 points on the log there by enhancing their hope of qualifying to continental competitions.

Warriors are the only unbeaten side in the league and determined to go an entire season unbeaten with only three matches to the end of the transitional league.

An away win at Zanaco boosted Warriors’ title hopes having earlier surrendered the summit of the group to Lusaka Dynamos and later Zanaco and Zesco United, but three points courtesy of the FAZ disciplinary committee on the back for the Kabwe-based side has pushed them back in the hunt for the title and further giving the lads more hope of Continental action next season.

But a win won’t an easy one for Warriors who face their old rivals Wanderers seeking to escape a possibility of relegation having only accumulated 12 points and sitting on number eight on the log just above the relegation zone.

With stream A competition swinging among different leaders, Stream B also has its own competition with Green Eagles, Nkwazi and Buildcon all wrestling each other for leadership.

But it is NAPSA Stars hosting Power Dynamos that could potentially be the game of the weekend in stream B as NAPSA have been on an upward movement, going unbeaten in the last one month.

Fifth-positioned NAPSA will be seeking to climb to fourth place on the log when they take on a struggling Power Dynamos at their Woodlands Stadium home in Lusaka.

A win for NAPSA could push the side up to fourth place on the log depending on the other results involving Forest Rangers and Buildcon who take on each other in the other games of the same stream in Ndola.
