Selling of text books in various fields of education has become a big challenge this year, says a Lusaka-based trader, Emmanuel Chembe.

Mr Chembe who sold text book for mathematics, science and biology among other subjects said business had become exceedingly slow.

According to Mr Chembe, he used to sell more than 10 text books a day in the last two years, a situation he said had since reversed this year.

He told the Sun in an interview in Lusaka that he went into selli9ng text books in 2013 after he switched from vending soft drinks.  “I make about K100 or K150 profit a day when business is good. I have a licence to conduct this business and I take returns to the Zambia Revenue Authority. I registered it in 2014 under Emmanuel Chembe Book Supplier.” said Mr Chembe.

Mr Chembe explained that he was currently supplying his text books and pamphlets to rural areas and boarding schools as well.

Mr Chembe said he got his text books from book publishers such Oxford.
