BARCLAYS Bank Zambia has announced that its parent company, Absa Group, has started implementing system changes.
In July last year, Barclays Bank Zambia Plc’s parent company, Absa Group Limited, announced that the bank will be changing its operating name to Absa by 2020.
Bank managing director, Mizinga Melu, said the group was progressing with the brand name change and that is had started implementing system changes too.
Mrs Melu was speaking in Lusaka at the exclusive women’s healthy living and wellness session to commemorate the International Women’s Day.
“I would like to reiterate that even though our name is changing, we are still committed to serving you and ensuring that you continue to enjoy the best banking solutions that we have been providing,” she said.
“We will also remain agile so that we bring on innovative products and services to help you run your business,” Mrs Melu said.
This, she said, was an opportunity for the group to operate as a truly Pan-African Bank with home-grown solutions that touched at the heart of the thriving continent.
Mr Melu further said “you will be seeing more of the lovely Absa colours, some of which we are wearing today as we introduce the brand on the Zambian market.
She said, “I would like to thank you for your continued support and which we do not take for granted; many thanks for joining this this afternoon and allowing us to pamper and get you active!”
