Chongwe barber shop owner cries to Govt

A CHONGWE youth has bemoaned lack of business opportunities in the town and has appealed to government and other stakeholders for empowerment.
Vincent Banda who owns a barber shop where he also loads music in cell phones and flush sticks however said it was better than doing nothing at all.
“Business is a challenge in Chongwe district, but I am doing everything possible to ensure that I work hard so that I can survive,” said Mr Banda.
Banda who started his business at the beginning of this year at Chongwe main market as a source of his livelihood.
In an interview with The Lusaka Sun, Mr Banda said he made more money from hair dressing than from putting songs in phones and flush drives.
He explained that on a good day he went home with K50.
“The business of cutting hair is a bit slow but it is better than doing nothing. Putting songs in flush sticks costs K1.00 and business for this venture is extremely slow compared to hair dressing,” said Mr Banda
Mr Banda said he had a challenge of paying rentals, and electricity, which he felt, was too high for him.
He appealed to government to consider reducing electricity tariffs for small businesses like his.
“I spend K100.00 to rent my shop and another K100.00 for electricity, it’s too much for me”.
He encouraged his fellow youths to work hard at school and make a difference in society.
