He said the incident was reported to the police by Ms Serah Lewis Arshworth, 44, of the same farm.

“I can confirm that on January 27, 2019 at 06: 00 hours we received a phone call from Serah Lewis Arshworth aged 44 of CMR Farm to the effect that one unknown suspected poacher of unknown abode was shot dead by a scout after an exchange of fire,” said Mr Katanga.

Mr Katanga said police officers rushed to the scene and found the body of a man aged between 30 and 35 years old.

He said after thorough inspection, the body had gunshot wounds on both legs and might have died due to bleeding.

Mr Chola said the body of the poacher has been taken to Kabwe Central Hospital awaiting identification by relatives.
