Zambia’s singing sensation Jordan Katembula famously known as JK has described late African music icon Oliver Mtukudzi as  his greatest inspiration whose death is heartbreaking.

JK who once worked with Mtukudzi fondly called Tuku on  the song ‘ Tsokera’ said he personally has lost a mentor.

“I ‘m truly saddened  by the demise of one of Africa’s finest, and a man that greatly inspired  and changed the way I used to look at music,” said JK in an interview with The Lusaka Sun.

“This is a man that  made me lift my head high with confidence knowing and seeing myself rise to face any challenge and all fears with a view to attaining  victory in all I do through  perseverance and hard work. He is a man that has conquered and proven that it can be done when you believe, words may not express my sadness. I’ve personally lost a great friend, a rare opportunity to see greatness first hand.”

Apart from recording a song with Tuku, JK had   other personal and business interactions with him. He said he would forever treasure the memories the late shared with him.

“Rest well big man, rest well soldier and pioneer of the great, blessed be your soul,

farewell Oliver Mtukudzi, farewell my mentor,” eulogized JK.
