HH STILL BEING PAID – KALABA

It is not true that President Hakainde Hichilema does not draw a salary because what he has forfeited is just a component of his emoluments, Citizens First leader Harry Kalaba has said.

Mr Kalaba claimed  that President Hichilema was still being paid and that a good example was the tours he was conducting like the current one in Washington DC from which the Head of State is drawing allowances.

He said there was a very wrong narrative and perception that the President was not getting anything when huge amounts money from the Treasury were being spent on him on his foreign trips. 

“As you are aware, President Hichilema does not buy things like food and pay for amenities like water, electricity and therefore tax payers money is being used on his expenses. The President has attempted to hoodwink Zambians that he has forfeited his salary but the Head of State is drawing his salary. What he has forfeited are just components of his emoluments,” Mr Kalaba said.

Meanwhile, Mr Kalaba has challenged President Hichilema to prove that the presidential Jet, the Gulfstream was corruptly procured because so far, the Head of State had not come up with any evidence over his corruption claims.
