THE Presidential Jet, G650 Gulfstream, is in Dubai for scheduled annual maintenance, Deputy Secretary to Cabinet Oliver Kalabo, says.

Mr Kalabo says the maintenance has been on-going and this is the fourth since its acquisition.

Mr Kalabo says the jet was due for maintenance and this is the reason it was taken to Dubai.

He says the maintenance of the jet is done by the Jet Aviation Company in that country and not what people are insinuating that the First Lady, Ms Mutinta Hichilema, travelled on the same jet.

Mr Kalabo also says the First Lady travelled separately to Dubai during the same period.

He says the jet will return to Zambia on December 10, 2022.

“The aircraft departed Lusaka on November 15, 2022, and it is scheduled to be back in the country on the December 10, 2022.

The only persons who were on board are Zambia Airforce, and the technical crew. From the November 13, 2022, the aircraft has been undergoing maintenance,” Mr Kalabo says.
