PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema must quickly move in and dissolve the current Zambia Medicines and Supplies Agency (ZAMSA) Board, says a Copperbelt-based pharmaceutical expert.

Mr Jerome Kanyika alleged that the Head of State has the power to move in and stop the incompetence which has been exhibited by ZAMSA board members.

“I am failing to understand why people are shocked on the shortage of drugs when we have put people in wrong positions.

“Wrong results come out when you allow wrong people to be in certain positions,” he said.

Mr Kanyika also maintained that the ZAMSA management was failing to handle what was happening at the organisation.

He said the board has shown great incompetence making the President and his Vice President Mutale Nalumango look bad to the people.

Mr Kanyika added that it was unfair that drugs were not seen in hospitals despite the government having released K814 million since last October for the procurement of drugs.
