MTENDERE TOWNSHIP WOMAN ADMITS SMOKING MARIJUANA

A WOMAN in Lusaka has admitted trafficking in psychotropic substances in the magistrate’s court.
Lisa Mumba, aged 28 of Mtendere township appeared before magistrate Chinunda Chiwaula.
Particulars of the offence were that Mumba on March 13, 2021 did traffic in 20.5 grams of marijuana.
When asked if she admitted the charge or not, Mumba started laughing.
Magistrate Chiwaula told Mumba that the offence she is charged with is serious and not a laughing matter.
Magistrate Chiwaula told Mumba to behave as the court is not a place to play or joke around.
Magistrate: Did you traffic in 20.5 grams of marijuana?
Mumba: Yes, I was found with the marijuana but I am not sure of the quantity.
Magistrate: Where did you get the marijuana.
Mumba: I got the marijuana from someone in Mtendere.
Magistrate: What did you want to use it for?
Mumba: I usually buy to smoke. I was smoking.
The court adjourned the matter to March 26 for facts and sentencing and Mumba was remanded in custody.
