Prophet nabbed In robbery

POLICE in Kaoma District have apprehended four armed robbers who are alleged to have been behind a spate of robberies in the district.

The police apprehended the robbers after a tip-off from one of the local businessmen who was recently robbed of a K40,000 at the entrance of his house.

The local businessman informed the police of the presence of the alleged criminals when he spotted one of them in town yesterday.

The ZANIS News Crew witnessed the incident in Kaoma town when one of the suspects, who poses as a prophet on Facebook under the name ‘Brother Moffat Spirit’ was being apprehended.

‘Prophet Spirit’ later led the police to a house in Kalingalinga Township in Kaoma where three other suspects were picked.

During the raid, the police recovered live ammunition and a shot gun while one of the suspected criminals sustained a broken leg and has since been admitted to Kaoma District Hospital.

The trio are currently in police custody at Kaoma main police station.

The incident attracted scores of residents who wanted to take a glimpse of the suspected criminals.

There has been a spate of robberies in Kaoma District mostly targeting businessmen, with the latest being at an Airtel booth where the criminals got away with a K50,000 at gun point.
