Music promoter and events manager Isaac Siwale famously known as Hustler from Hustler Events Management has charged that the Zambia Association of Musicians (ZAM) needs a clear economic plan to help motivate artistes in times of crisis like Covid-19 pandemic.

Siwale who spoke in an interview said it was regrettable that most musicians have nothing to look up to other than performing at shows.

“With the Covid-19 pandemic, it is clear that most artistes do not have any means now to earn money. Shows have been called off and if the situation continues, there will be no revenue coming in for artistes,” he said, insisting that ZAM must in future come up with an economic incentive or plan for artistes to help them in times of crisis.

“The Association must have some economic plan like loan systems, pool funds and other incentives to help artistes. It also must help source for other possible deals and ways of getting money for artistes with different corporate events to avoid artistes depending on shows,” advises Siwale.
