SENSATIONAL ZANACO midfielder, Kelvin Kapumbu has as earned a place in the local assemblage of Zambia national soccer team that is preparing for Saturday’s second leg crucial CHAN qualifier against Botswana to be play at Lusaka’s National Heroes Stadium.

Kapumbu was called up to the squad by  stand-in coach Aggrey Chiyangi as a late replacement for  Green Buffaloes star Jack Chirwa who sustained an injury in the first leg played in Francistown last Friday.

The development means that Chirwa will miss the second leg qualifier match on Saturday having started in the reverse tie last week.

ZANACO coach Numba Mumamba who is also the national soccer team assistant coach confirmed the development to Zanaco FC media.

“We’ve picked Kapumbu to replace Chirwa who got injured during the first leg match against Botswana on Friday.” Numba said.

Kapumbu was instrumental for the Bankers in the transitional league and has been a regular feature in the pre- season friendly games including the team’s nil-all draw against visiting South Africa’s premier soccer league champions Mamelodi Sundowns in a friendly match played at Sunset stadium last week.

Winner over the two legs between Zambia and Botswana will qualify to the last round of the competition to play either Angola or eSwatini.
