FARMERS in Chavuma in North Western Province will soon receive compound D fertilizer under Farmer Input Support Programme (FISP), says district commissioner Benjamin Mufunga.

Mr Mufunga confirmed the development in an interview with the Sun saying the first consignment of the commodity was received yesterday for distribution to the farmers.

He said the fertilizer was being supplied by Miombo Limited and that the cost was unknown because the payment was done by Ministry of finance in Lusaka.

He said it was a good gesture that the fertilizer was acquired in good time, adding that feed and urea would soon be received for distribution to farmers.

“We have received over 4,000 bags of Compound D fertilizer under FISP for the coming farming season. Miombo Limited is supplying the fertilizer, the cost is not known because the payment was catered for by Ministry of finance Headquarters in Lusaka,

“Compound D is the first consignment we have acquired under FISP. Urea and feed will come through in time for us to distribute to our farmers in good time,” Mr Mufunga said
