Simataa demands ceasefire

THERE is need to for warring factions in Zambian Football to sit down together to iron out our differences for the sake of the game, soccer administrator Simataa Simataa has observed.
Simataa, a former ally of Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) president Andrew Kamanga, was speaking when he featured on Lusaka’s Hot FM Breakfast Show programme yesterday.
Simataa said the hatred had rocked the soccer fraternity was not healthy for the nation.
He said FAZ president, Andrew Kamanga, and his predecessor, Kalusha Bwalya, needed to come to a round table and iron out their differences.
Simataa noted that both Kamanga and Bwalya needed to tag their friends along who were part of the feud that had engulfed the two camps.
“I’m saying Kamanga with all his friends, Kephas Katongo in Ndola, Charles Nshimbi in Kitwe and Ponga Liwewe, Also Kalusha with his friends, the Chikumbi’s, Mumbo’s and George Kasengele, should be called and brought to a room together for the sake of Zambian football,” he said.
Simataa said, “At the end of the day we shake hands and open communication where we don’t cut or block each other so that things could go back to the way they were before December 2017, when I could walk to Kamanga’s office each time I saw something wrong without an appointment.”
Simataa said he never used to go to the press to air his grievances before 2017 as his relations with the FAZ boss, Kamanga, was not strained.
Relations between the two have reportedly strained over the last two years to an extent where they have even exchanged bitter words in the media.
