KANSANSHI Dynamos needed the lottery of penalties to win promotion to the MTN FAZ Super League for the 2019/20 after beating Young Green Eagles 5-4 on post-match penalties on Sunday afternoon.

The second leg playoff ended one nil in favor of Dynamos who were the home side.

Young Green Eagles had won 1-0 in the first leg played at Nkhosa Stadium on Tuesday, thanks to an additional time goal by Adamson Mulao.

Kansanshi Dynamos won the second leg by the same margin for the two sides to remain tied over two legs.

When the tie looked like it would go in favour of Young Green Eagles, it was Royd Alufonso who netted for the hosts in additional time.

That result meant that the two sides had to be separated on post-match penalties and it is the Solwezi-based outfit who were more clinical and confirmed their status as a Super League team via a 5-4 victory.

Kansanshi Dynamos join KYSA in winning promotion to the 18 team MTN FAZ Super League set to kick off next month.

Young Green Eagles and National Assembly will play in the second tier National Division One League.
