Green Eagles charm Rwandans

THREE-TIME Council for East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) Kagame Cup champions APR FC have praised the Zambian side Green Eagles’s defensive display during the ongoing East African club tournament in Rwanda where Eagles are guest participants.
APR coach Jimmy Mulisa said that despite his team’s one-nil win over Eagles, the Zambian side proved to be a well defensively organized team.
APR booked a spot in the quarterfinals after beating Eagles late on Monday afternoon.
Eagles were a hard nut to crack at the back but the Zambian side conceded defeat through defender Bonnie Sunzu’s own goal in 60th minute of the match.
“I think it’s a good team, if you see how they defensively organize themselves, it’s a team which is mature,’
“We tried to penetrate their defence but it wasn’t easy. But through sheer lucky we got a goal which I think it was as a result of pressure we piled on them,” said Mulisa
Eagles’ coach Aggrey Chiyangi expressed dissatisfaction over the assistant referee’s decisions that went against his team during the match but later admitted that the game was a tough one.
“The only thing I would like to say and it’s not an excuse because lost but I think some of the offside that the second referee was lifting were not so and, if a game should be determined like that It’s not fair because this is a competition,
“There must be the spirit of the game and the spirit of the game is very important otherwise it was a tough game,” said Chiyangi
Chiyangi admitted that was a tough game as APR pushed us hard in Eagles own half, adding that the boys did their best, but luck was with the Rwanda side which won the day.
