Zambia, Rwanda relations continue to flourish

THE relations between Zambia and Rwanda have continued to flourish into a mutually beneficial partnerships which have witnessed successful collaboration in key sectors of Lusaka and Kigali economies, says Justice Minister Given Lubinda.

Mr Lubinda said the sectors include tourism, agriculture, education and infrastructure development.

Speaking at Rwanda’s 25th Liberation Day ceremony at Mulungushi International Conference Centre where he was guest of honour, Mr Lubinda said through the Zambia –Rwanda Joint Permanent Commission, Zambia looked forward to strengthening those ties.

“The two governments will continue to pursue more joint avenues of cooperation to attain bilateral, regional and continental aspirations as espoused in Agenda 2063,

“May I also take this opportunity to commend the government of Rwanda for the progress made in re-building its economy in the past few years,” said Mr Lubinda.

Mr Lubinda said that remarkable progress which has been recognized worldwide, has witnessed significant reductions in poverty, unemployment and inequality which has subsequently led to increased standard of living for the people of Rwanda.

“The Zambian government in this regard is eager to learn best practices from our Rwandan brothers and sisters on how best to advance our joint economic objectives,” said Mr Lubinda
