SOME residents of Lusaka’s New Chilenje Township are up in arms against ZESCO for allegedly load shedding them twice in a day.

The residents interviewed by the Sun expressed great concern over the change in the load shedding schedule which was allegedly complicating their lives.

Mr Michael Mhango, a resident and businessman said the area has been experiencing extended load shedding for unknown reasons.

“It would appear schedule is not being followed accordingly. For the past few days we have been experiencing load shedding twice in day. It has become very inconveniencing because when the electricity is restored we only have it for three hours and then it is cut off again,

“It is affecting our businesses because the time we expect to have power it is not there for another four hours. We want the power utility company ZESCO to work on this problem,” he said.

Ms Mwansa Mwansa said the it was unfair that the area was experiencing extended load shedding twice a day when other places did not experience that.

“Kuno ku Chilenje mailiti yayenda kabili. Most of the time electricity is cut off any how and at any time. We want the utility company to resolve the problem,” she said.
