Division One Zone One side National Assembly have been confirmed winners of their group after beating Ramekin 0-1 at Olympia grounds on Wednesday to top the group on 66 points.

Assembly shrugged off competition from second-placed Police College to secure a spot in the super division promotional play-off.

The Division One Zone one champions will face off with Zone three champions Kabwe Youth Soccer academy in the two legged home and away promotional playoff to be played on July 6 and 13.

The play offs will also see winners of the other two streams namely Zone two and four also meeting for a place to qualify to the super league.

After wrapping up their zone, Police College, Kafue Celtic and Zesco Malaiti Rangers made it to their newly constituted National Division One to start next season.

With their chances of qualifying to the inaugural second tier league on the edge, Celtic needed to leave it on the last day to earn a spot by beating Malaiti Rangers 2-0 on Wednesday.

The results meant that other contenders such as Romeki and Young Buffaloes missed out on a spot to play in the second tier and will now play in the third tier competition to be called the Provincial Division One.

FAZ is yet to announce the release of the calendar for the next season expected to start in August. The local soccer mother body was also yet to indicate whether the club licensing rules would apply in the coming season as was earlier indicated at the beginning of the 2019 transitional season
