Police hunt Kapiri wife killer

A KAPIRI Mposhi man is on the run after he allegedly beat his wife to death and secretly buried her body in the village in Chief Nkole’s area.

Godfrey Sundwe, 39,  has gone into hiding after allegedly beating his wife to death and burying her body.

Sundwe is alleged to have beat his wife, Grace Nshimbi, 34, to death using fists and kicks following a marital dispute and later buried her body at Fubera Village in Chief Nkole’s area.

In an interview, Central Province Commissioner of Police Chola Katanga confirmed the incident to the Sun and said the incident occurred on June 8.

Mr Katanga said the suspect was currently 2on the run and police have  launched a manhunt.

“Yes we received a report of murder from Febby Nshimbi, 45, to the effect that her sister   Grace Nshimbi died after being beaten by her husband. The suspect is on the run and we have since launched a man hunt,” Mr Katanga said.

He said according to the report, the deceased sustained stomach and general body pains and bleeding from the nose and mouth as a result of the beating and later died.

Mr Katanga said police would soon exhume the body to facilitate postmortem.
