Solwezi man commits suicide

A THIRTY-YEAR OLD man of Kawama Township in Solwezi has died in suspected suicide act.

Commissioner of police Hudson Namachila confirmed the inciden which he said occurred between June 10 and 11  around 09:00 hours.

Mr Namachila said the report  was made by his sibling Isaac Nyikosa aged 20 of Kazomba area. 

“We received a report of a body found dead in the house around 14:00 hours of Mr Hilary Sapilinya of Kawama B area. The scene was visited and the deceased’s body was found lying in the sitting position and well covered in a blanket,” he said.

Mr Namachila said after the inspection of the scene, the police found no physical injuries but observed a watery fluid oozing fom the nose.

They also found two empty bottles of Officers beer commonly known as balls 2 meters away from the body.

The commissioner said the police did not suspect any foul play but an inquiry file had been opened.

“The body has been deposited in Solwezi General Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem”, he said.

Meanwhile Edwin Inambao ,42 a pedestrian of Kasempa district has died on the spot in  a hit and run fatal road traffic accident that occurred at about 22:30 hours at Miombe Primary School about 20 kilometres east of Kasempa.

The commissioner said the identity of the driver and the vehicle remained unknown.

“The deceased body is lying in Mukinge Mission Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem”, he said

Mr Namachila said the scene was visited and a docket of causing death by dangerous driving was opened adding that investigations were underway.
