Five students have been arrested after they allegedly crushed one of their classmates to death under their bikes.
Mobile phone footage taken by another student shows the victim, Ranjit Singh, stripped to his underwear as other pupils beat him with rods.
He had an altercation with his pal and was pushed outside a building.
Ranjit was said to have gotten into a fight with his classmates because he tried to sit in the front row as they were attending a coaching class near Malobar village in Uttar Pradesh, northern India.
He was thrashed with rods and sticks when he was on his way to class on Saturday, according to local police.
He then lost conscious and the attackers allegedly ran their motorbikes over his stomach and head several times.
Ranjit was rushed to the district hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival by doctors.
A source said his father works at a factory in Gujarat while the mother is ill and is in Delhi for treatment.
One of the attackers was caught by locals and handed over to the police whilst the officers arrested four others.
The police has launched a manhunt to apprehend the runaway students.
The manager of the coaching institute has also gone missing, adding that the coaching institute did not have the permission to hold classes. SOURCE: sde.co.ke
