KALUMBILA Municipal Council in North-Western province has set aside K6 million from the Ward Development Fund (WDF) for completion of on-going projects, says public relations officer Rose Samiselo.
Ms Samiselo said this after she accompanied council secretary Josephine Mwanza on inspection tour of five projects.
Ms Samiselo said Ms Mwanza was pleased with most of the works so far done and further asked the constructions to be complete the projects within the time frame given.
“The progress so far made on the projects is pleasing, I am appealing to the contractors to make sure all projects are completed by their given time frames if we are to avoid the halt of constructions. The four schools should be completed next month,” she said.
Ms Samiselo said when construction works were completed, they would provide adequate learning environment for pupils and good infrastructure for the wards.
She said Kyasunununu health post in Kibanza ward was the fifth project the municipality had undertaken to deliver quality health and wellbeing for the residents.
“We are putting up a 1 by 2 class block at Musele basic school and another 1 by 3 classroom block at Kambamgala Basic school in Musele ward, a 1 by 3 classroom block at Nkulumazhiba Basic school in Shilenda ward and a 1 by 3 classroom block at Lumwana East in Lumwana ward,
“As Kalumbila council we are going an extra kilometre in completing a good health post in Kibanza ward”, she said
Ms Samiselo further said that the council would embark on the construction of a three storey ultra-modern civic centre in the central business district(CBD) in Mumbezhi area.
