SOLWEZI Central Member of Parliament (MP) Stafford Mulusa has urged communities to participate in the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) projects being implemented by the Solwezi Municipal Council (SMC).

Speaking during the CDF committee inspections of the five wards in the constituency, Mr Mulusa said he was impressed with the progress of the works so far.

He said among all the 10 projects only one was not impressive.

“The progress made so far is very impressive. So far most of the projects are well done except one which I am advising the contractor to improve or risk being blacklisted on CDF projects,” Mr Mulusa said.

He called on the members of the community where the projects where being implemented to fully participate and monitor the works for the working contractors for the works to be done the way they want.

Mr Mulusa said projects would be visited often to ensure the specific time frames set for them to be completed were complied with.

CDF committee chairperson Godfrey Njolomba said the CDF projects were set to help alleviate the suffering of the people.

Therefore, the cooperation of the community was needed.

“The government and municipality are doing a great job in trying to implement all the projects it has set to do that are in bid to alleviate problems, especially education as most projects are prioritised for education purposes,” he said.

Pastor Njolomba thanked the government for releasing the money.

He said the CDF committee would ensure all the projects were completed on time.
