2 die in Kasama fatal road accident

TWO people have died on the spot while four others including the driver sustained multiple injuries in a fatal road accident which occurred on at Chakopo area on the Mpika- Kasama road, on May 10

Zambia Police Public Relations Officer Esther Mwata Katongo confirmed the incident and said involved was a Toyota Noah registration number AIB 351 which was being driven by Collins Kashimbaya of Mpepo village, Chief Mpepo of Kanchibiya District who was driving from Mpika town to Mpepo area.

The accident happened when Kashimbaya lost control of the vehicle as he tried to avoid hitting cyclist who was also heading in the same direction, in the process the vehicle went off the road and over turned.

The deceased have been identified as Agnes Bwalya aged 53 years and Refresh Mukupa aged 31years both of Lukaka village in chief Mukwikile of Shiwangandu District who sustained multiple injuries and were pronounced dead on arrival at Michael Chilufya Sata Hospital.

The driver sustained head injuries while three passengers identified as Derrick Kampamba aged 26 years, Franscina Shula, aged 25years and Eunice Mtonga aged 55 sustained bodily injuries and a are admitted to the Michael Chilufya Sata Hospital.
