A LUSAKA man has reconciled with his wife who returned home with her private parts full of semen.
This was a case in which Rita Phiri, 29, of Ng’ombe took Daniel Lungu before the Boma Local Court seeking reconciliation.
Lungu told the court that one night Phiri came home late and when they got in bed he found semen in her private part.
“When I asked her what that meant, she told me the semen were from our sex we had the previous day,” said Lungu.
Lungu then told the court that most times when he went away for business in the village, he was told many stories about his wife seeing another man.
“In February last year, I came home from Solwezi and found work suits in the house. When I asked her who they belonged to she said a male friend of hers had come to wash from our place,” Mr Lungu said.
He also told the court that one time when they were sleeping around 02:00hrs, a man got into their bedroom with a torch and told him he had come to kill him.
“My wife started screaming and then he ran away. I don’t think that was a thief because when I checked the sitting room, the TV, phones, DVD, everything was intact. So I didn’t brush it off,” Mr Lungu said.
Mr Lungu said Phiri then started coming home late from the business she was running.
He also said that his wife also stopped doing chores around the house and her cooking was so bad such that one time he found some small pieces of wire in the food she prepared him.
“My child also told me that my wife was a rumour monger and the neighbours started referring to me as ‘Ija mbuzi’. I told my wife that if she didn’t want me, she should not waste my time and just tell me to leave,” said Mr Lungu stated.
But Phiri told Senior Local Court Magistrate Silvia Kabunda that she got married to Mr Lungu in 2008 and problems started the following year when they were expecting their first child.
“When I was 3 months pregnant, he took me to my grandfather’s place and said he was tired of me. My grandfather refused to take me because I was pregnant and he insisted that I should be with my husband.
She said when she was 5 months pregnant, he chased her again because they had an argument after he came home late.
“When my child was born he started saying the child looked too much like his uncle. He accuses me of having a lot of men. Even when I’m from the toilet he thinks I’m from having sex with other men,” she told the court.
“I even told him to do a DNA test if he wanted but he refused. He told me I would only go back home if I accepted that the pregnancy was not his. I want to go back because he is the father of my children,” Ms Phiri said.
The court however reconciled the two and give them one month to properly reconcile.
The magistrate however advised either party to sue for divorce if the granted reconciliation failed to work.
