Sun newspaper wins Govt kudos

GOVERNMENT has commended the newly launched Sun newspapers which it says is moving in the right direction.
Information Permanent Secretary Chanda Kasolo said the efforts that had been put into the newspaper were highly commendable.
Mr Kasolo was speaking in Lusaka on Friday when he visited the Sun stand during the commemoration of this year’s World Press Freedom Day at East Park grounds.
“You are doing a great job. You are on the right path. Zambia needed such a newspaper. Please keep up the good work,” said Mr Kasolo
He agreed that the Sun was a baby born with teeth and urged its staff to carry on with their good work.
The Sun joined other media houses to celebrate the day which falls on May every year.
The theme for this years’ commemoration was: “World Press Freedom day commemoration is: “Media for democracy, Journalism in Times of Disinformation”.
