A WOMAN of Mikango barracks moved the Chilenje Local Court when she asked her husband to forgive her for the mistakes she committed against him, including adultery she did with another man last year.

This was in a matter in which Amon Sikanyika,30, a farmer of Mikango barracks was sued for marriage reconciliation by his wife Harriet Nalupande,23, also a farmer of the same area.

“I have brought my husband to court so that we can reconcile. I want him to forgive me for my mistake. I committed adultery with another man last year in December. I left our matrimonial home in January 2019,” Nalumpande said.

Nalumpande explained that they got married in 2009 and have three children together.
She said they went on separation and during that time she met Sikanyika once and she begged him to forgive her but he refused.
“I want him to forgive me so that we can get back together and keep our children. I committed adultery because we were arguing over money. My husband used to spend most of the money on alcohol,” she said.

The two were appearing before presiding senior local court magistrate Patrick Nyirenda.
But Sikanyika said they got married in 2010 and were living in harmony until he’s wife committed adultery in 2018.

“I used to provide everything for her, maybe it’s just her way of thinking that caused her cheat on me and sleep with another man,
“I agree for her to return home as long as she does not repeat her mistake again. She should never commit adultery again,” Sikanyika said.

The court reconciled the couple and advised them to live in harmony.
