Woman dumps ‘Casanova’ hubby

A 31-YEAR-OLD business woman of Libala residential area in Lusaka has divorced her ‘Casanova’ husband at the Boma Local Court after she got fed-up with his unfaithfulness.
Olipa Kuni told Senior Local Court Magistrate Juliet Mwila she married Nathan Banda of Ndola in 2003 and that they only lived in harmony in the first three months of their marriage.
She said after they had their first child, problems started.
Her husband got into an affair with another woman and had a child with her.
“Also, he likes very old women. He would do anything for money. That’s why he is going out with an elderly woman. He stopped sponsoring us and started going out with some woman in the neighborhood.
“He wouldn’t leave any money home even while I was keeping his relatives,” Kuni said.
She told the court that one day in 2016 when he found her at a shopping mall with her lawyer, he held her and started calling her a prostitute while he was with his elderly girlfriend.
Kuni testified that after Banda came back from a trip, he packed up all his belongings and told her he was going for Ndola and that he wanted her to be free.
“Later, I phoned him to ask for the K17,000 he owed me, but he would only shout at me. Then that lady shifted and started staying with him in our house in Ndola,” she said.
Kuni told the court that when she went to Ndola she found her husband’s elderly lover in their bedroom.
“She said ‘I pay for this house, your husband is just a destitute’,” Kuni said.
She told the court that Banda and she had been on separation since 2016 during which period he would even phone her asking her to hook up with him at lodges.
In his statement, Banda told the court that problems in their marriage started in 2014 when his wife started dating some man who worked in Government.
“I found messages in her phone and I confronted him [suspected lover] more than once, but their relationship continued. I found them one time at Levy Mall. He even admitted to me that he had been supporting my children,” Banda testified.
He told the court that he and his wife had had many problems in their marriage and that his wife had sued him for reconciliation but refused to reconcile with him in court until she again sued him for divorce.
The court found that there was no love between the two and that they were both unfaithful to each other.
It granted the divorce and ordered Banda to compensate Kuni with K6,000.
