RESIDENTS of Ndola’s Kansenshi town have appealed to their area councilor in Sekela ward and MP to construct a clinic in the area.
The residents told the Sun in an that the people in the area have struggled too much whenever they get sick.
A concerned resident Priscilla Kafula said that Kansenshi has been in existence for more than 50 years now and it does not have a clinic.
Ms Kafula said that Kansenshi’s population has increased because there is now Kansenshi Extension, Kansenshi in-field and Mitengo and that people travel long distances to access medical treatment.
She said some people move as far as Mapanza clinic near town, Prison’s clinic, Chifubu or Kalewa Barracks clinic, which were all more than 5 kms away.
She appealed to the Government to repair roads in Petauke and Mtata in particular, which are in a bad state.
She complained that the people working on roads were being selective because only those roads leading to the Member of Parliament or Councilors’ areas were the only ones which were being worked on.
