Divorced Casanova compensates wife with K10, 000

AN ADULTEROUS Lusaka husband has been ordered by the Matero Local Court to compensate his wife with K10, 000 after she successfully sued him for divorce.
Lorraine Katebe, 37, of Garden sued her husband Barron Mukando, 42, with him she has 2 children for divorce.
When the matter came up before Magistrate Pauline Newa sitting with Harriet Mulenga, Katebe told the court that they had been on separation since 2015 because Mukando had multiple lovers.
“We got married in 2005 and we used to live well until 2017 when he acquired his first lover. He would call her in my presence to make programmes. His elder brother who has since died sat us down with less positive results because he got another lover who would ever come to our home,
“One time he got a loan of K16,000 and went to a lodge with the same lady where he dropped his SIM card and the people at the lodge called me saying your husband left his SIM card when you came here . After I quizzed him, he admitted and apologized and I forgave him,” said Katebe
She said Mukando later impregnated the same woman but she aborted their child after they had a difference.
“We shifted to Bauleni but he would still go and see her. He later found another lover in Bauleni and would constantly misbehave with other women,
“We bought a house in Zani Muone and we moved there and he became worse and started having affairs with married women. I went to my mother’s house for 3 months to have a breather then he got sick that’s how I went back and took him to the hospital and he was found to be HIV positive and with TB I said I would be with him regardless of his situation because he was my husband,” she said
She got all the medicines for him but he later impregnated another woman and they had the child.
He stopped working for no reason and he would wait for me by the roadside at a lodge where she worked working as a manager.
“You do not support the children, you are not responsible. Without conjugal rights what kind if a marriage is it?
You have also agreed to divorce and divorce has been granted. You will compensate Katebe K10,000 effective May 30, you are the one that ruined the marriage.
She also ordered Mukando to maintain his children with K500 monthly contribution as well as paying for
