Nigerian singing sensation Yemi Eberechi Alade musically called Yemi Alade is the foreign act to grace this year’s Mosi Day of Thunder set for Livingstone this Saturday.
The singer who is known for her greatest hit single ‘Johnny’ is not a stranger to Zambia as she worked closely with musician Jordan Katembula (JK) on the song ‘Paduze’. She is also popular for a local commercial for ‘D’Lite Cereal’ by Trade Kings.
Alade will be supported by several local acts that includes Mampi. Cleo Ice Queen, J-Rox, SlapDee and 408 Empire. Others are DJs Mucky, Boogie and Drew. According to the programme released last week, the event will start at 14 hours and run through to the next day at 01:00 hours.
And all is set for the 4th edition of the ‘Thunder’ which Zambian Breweries country director Jose Moran described as a celebration of Zambia, and Zambian music.
Mr Moran said this during the pre-party and announcement of winners for the Thunder Beat competition held at Lusaka’s Gymkhana Club in the Showgrounds last Saturday.
This year’s event is focused on promoting music talent amongst young artistes in Zambia who were entered in the ‘Thunder Beats’ competition. This was meant to create music that will capture the people’s attention and adjudicators. The adjudicators panel included musicians Mampi, Cleo Ice Queen and Jay Rox.
