Music and artiste promoter George Phiri famously known as Bra Gee has appealed to all concerned citizens to find means to help musician Muzo aka Alphonso whom he believes is not behaving as expected of a celebrity following a video on social media that shows the musician in a desperate situation.
The video circulating on social media shows the once-popular and promising rapper Muzo in a bitter argument and exchange of insulting language with some unidentified people appearing as call boys. The call boys seem to have argued with Muzo over a bus fare because the artiste did not have enough money for the bus.
Voices are heard in the video where Muzo is being mocked and teased for failing to have enough money for a bus while the artiste looks helpless and troubled like a person abusing drugs.
“I feel bad how the artiste was treated for negotiating for a bus fare. Guys let’s be brothers’ keepers please,” Bra Gee who also runs Fanike Media and manages comedian Collins Zulu stated on his Face Book Page.
“Muzo needs some serious help. He needs some rehab. It is no longer a laughing matter but a concern. It shall be well.”
Last year, during the Sun FM sponsored Kwacha Music Awards, Muzo became a centre of discussion with some people accusing him of being under the influence of drugs after he said that he had slept naked the previous day during his acceptance speech of ‘The Best Artiste Award’ Northern Province.
When he was called to receive his award, the only thing he said in Bemba was, ‘Mailo nalele ubwamba, Muzo natotela,’ translated as ‘Yesterday I slept naked. Muzo thank you’. This statement caused concern with lots of people believing Muzo was under the influence. The artiste however, disputed all the accusations in follow-up interviews.
