FAZ HONOURS MAKEMBO, OTHERS… WITH LIFE MEMBERSHIP

ZAMBIA Sports Fans Association Patron Peter Makembo has been conferred with life membership by the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ).
Makembo, who has been a popular figure not only in football but other sporting disciplines was conferred with a life membership of FAZ along other sports administrators and players during Saturday’s annual general meeting at Mulungushi International Conference Center.
Also conferred with life membership status are football legends, former Nkana and Power Dynamos player, Peter Kaumba and former Nkana player Jericho Shinde who both played for the Zambia national team in the 1980’s.

Others are veteran administrator Hanif Adams and veteran referee turned administrator Katongo Kabungo, who were honored for their contribution to football administration.
FAZ president Andrew Kamanga explained that honorary and life membership status was conferred pursuant to Article 19 of the association constitution.
Kamanga said membership was conferred on administrators, football greats and any other personalities that may have contributed toward the development of the game.
The motion was moved by Durham Chibuye from Muchinga while Mark Silimi of Kansanshi Dynamos seconded .
Among the notable life members present at the FAZ annual general meeting were Fred Mwila, Lewis Shambulo, Michael Milner and Jim Chongo.
