DISCRIMINATION OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES

PLEASE be our voice to talk on this matter to our caring Republican President Mr Edgar Chagwa Lungu, the champion of disability, not forgetting the First Lady Esther Lungu.
Inform them that persons with disabilities working for Zambia Agency for Persons with Disabilities (ZAPD) are starving because the Ministry of Finance is not releasing their monthly grants.
It is important to note that this is a grant that is used to pay salaries and operations that makes Government directly meet persons with disabilities.
While Government has rushed to pay teachers, doctors, nurses etc, persons with disabilities are the last and the least and sometimes not even paid.
Last year the same people went without the grant for three months meaning that they went without salaries for three months. Up to date these grants have not been released.
We would like to ask a question as an organisation for persons with disabilities whether this is not leaving someone behind in terms of salaries and other activities to do with people with disabilities?
Is this not discrimination of the highest degree. We ask the our leaders to intervene in this matter and release the grants that have not been given since last year to date.
