RENOWNED Zambian rappers made a surprise visit at Libala High School and gave some lectures to grade 10 and 8 pupils at the school in Physics and Geography.
This was during the launch of Stay in School training program which focuses on road safety powered by Total Zambia with the support of Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA) held recently.
CHE 187 gave lecture on physics to the pupils whilst Cleo ‘Ice Queen’ taught Geography to the grades 8 and 10 respectively.
The artists also shared with the pupils the importance of road safety as well as learning about road signs.
Chanda Kangwa alias Roxy who is the project’s director said the idea behind having celebrities teach the pupils was because celebrities were considered to be role models.
Roxy said the project would be extended to all the 10 provinces in the country in due course but however said the focus for now was Lusaka.
And Total Zambia Managing Director Olufemi Babajide said Total is committed not only in ensuring that our business is conducted in the safest possible manner, but also in promoting road safety in Schools.
In speech read on his behalf by Sam Zulu at the launch, Mr Babajide said safety remained one of his company’s core values.
Mr Babajide said for over the past three years, Total had partnered with Cherise Kids Park in promoting road safety in various primary schools.
“We have decided to add a little surprise to the road safety program by incorporating well known Zambian musicians,” Mr Babajide said.
Mr Babajide encouraged the pupils to be ambassadors of road safety by sharing the message with their families and community members.
