THE aviation industry currently needs wheel alignment to ensure that the national airline feeds into the existing domestic market once established, Economics Association of Zambia (EAZ) has observed.
EAZ president Lubinda Haabazoka said it was the association’s philosophy that Zambia Airways should fit into the existing domestic airlines.
Speaking in an interview in Lusaka with the Sun Dr Haabazoka observed the need for Zambia to have a well-developed aviation industry to promote tourism. “We need to look at incentives that Government should do to ensure that sector goes to another level, especially that we are getting a new airline.
Dr Haabazoka said it was EAZ philosophy that the new airline fed into the existing domestic airlines so that it could fly in tourists to come and see out beautiful land,
He said QZ would also enable people to export goods and services and earn Zambia the much needed revenue.
“We understand that there are a lot of challenges in the aviation industry, just like any other industry. This needs wheel alignment. “We need to change certain policies to empower and enhance profitability of the players in this sector,” said Dr Haabazoka said
