THE Matero Constituency bridge connecting Musaononge area to George Clinic, which was two months ago washed away by heavy rains, has been repaired at the cost K12, 000.

Lima ward 26 councilor, Mr. Francis Bwalya, told The Sun in an interview, that the damaged bridge posed a danger to the lives of pedestrians, and resulted in the death of two people.

The two people died after being swept away by rain water but the third one survived after passersby quickly pulled him out of the water.

Mr. Bwalya said that the damage to the bridge made it difficult for some residents of Musaononge area to access health services at the George Clinic.

“It was a big challenge and we lost two lives, so we thought we should quickly work on it,” he said.
