NKANA Football Club’s `fugitive’ goalkeeper, Allan Chibwe, has returned to the Kitwe-based giants after reportedly failing to clinch a deal in South Africa.

Sources at Nkana told The Sun that the goal keeper is back at the club and has signed a one year and six months contract.

Chibwe ‘went AWOL’ after his 6 months contract with the team expired in December last year.

He joined Nkana from Power Dynamos in 2017, but has been a subject of media speculation following his conspicuous absence from the team since December 2018.

The goalkeeper is believed to have been pushing for a passage from Nkana Stadium, a move which saw him ‘disappear’ in unexplained circumstances at a time when it was preparing for the first leg of the Confederation group game against local rivals, ZESCO, in which Nkana lost 2-0.

In Chibwe’s absence, Nkana has looked to second choice goalkeeper, Kelvin Mulunga, who has conceded goals in all the last 6 games he featured for the club.

Allan Chibwe’s return to Power Dynamos, could be a boost to the team ahead of their highly anticipated Zambia super league week 4 fixture game against town rivals, Power Dynamos, this weekend.

Nkana will later play against Ghanaian giants, Asente Kotoko on Sunday February 24, in their third Confederation group game at home where a win for the Kitwe side would enhance its chances of making it out of a group that involves local rivals ZESCO, Sudanese giants All Hillal and Asente Kotoko of Ghana.
