Diamond TV pledges to promote Zed Pop Culture

Diamond TV on Tuesday night launched its 2019 Content with a special focus on the promotion of Zambian entertainment, lifestyle and popular culture.

The television which is purely Zambian and established to add a new touch to entertainment and lifestyle by sharing Zambian culture on a wider platform showcased its content that channel subscribers will enjoy this year.

The launch was held at a colorful ceremony at Lusaka’s Neelkanth Sarovar Premiere Hotel and attended by several dignitaries as well as key players in the entertainment industry. Most of these guests are partners and individuals who have played a part in the creation and provision of most of the new content. Notable among these were, fashion designers Towani Clarke, Chiza Ngulube of Esnoko, musician and actor Kuni, and radio personalities Cleo Ice Queen and Roxy Jones. Others are lawyer Dickson Jere, Ambassador Frank Mutubila, Diamond TV C.E.O Costa Mwansa and the guest of honor, information permanent secretary Chanda Kasolo.

And gracing the occasion Mr Kasolo congratulated Diamond TV management for giving Zambian content more prominence. He said such a policy will help promote Zambian culture and preserve our values. Meanwhile C.E.O Costa Mwansa announced that Diamond TV took a deliberate policy to centre on Zambian pop culture to fill up the gap that has been present for a long time. He pledged that his channel will take a lead in celebrating Zambian lifestyle and culture.

Amongst the many programmes showcased on the night and expected on Diamond TV includes a talk show by Costa Mwansa himself called ‘ Costa-The Other Side’,’ Misango Ya Busa’, ‘ Up Vile Squad,’ and ‘Queens of Lusaka’ to name only a few.
